Within Asia, he has 15 years of experience helming the best restaurants and bars in Hong Kong and Singapore. His developments include il Lido Dining & Lounge Bar at Singapore‘s Sentosa Golf Club, arguably the most stylish Italian restaurant with unsurpassed view of the South China sea from a vantage point off the cliff on Sentosa island. He also turned heads on the Singapore’s F&B scene with the opening of FORLINO, delivering an ultra-luxe gourmet experience with impeccable Italian fine cuisine.

Singapore’s iconic Italian restaurant and lounge bar, il Lido, is the next destination for the sartorially-sussed and savvy epicureans in Malaysia, offering an extraordinary selection of traditional Italian food, international wines, premium beers and cocktails.
The flagship restaurant in Kuala Lumpur Championed by Beppe de Vito, the established restaurateur who has created some of the finest dining experiences in Singapore and Hong Kong over the past 15 years, il Lido promises an all-inclusive, stylish environment that is complemented by its impeccable cuisine and a touch of warm, personable service.
|First introduced to Singaporean's in 2006, il Lido has won accolades from critics and food aficionados alike. The name of il Lido was inspired by Lido Island, a leisure and entertainment destination in Venice. de Vito shares the similar vision for il Lido. “With il Lido in Kuala Lumpur, we have created an environment that our guests will be able to settle in effortlessly, dining and wining at their leisure.
They can first linger over a marvelous meal, before going up to the bar for more drinks and conversations – or vice versa. It’s the complete experience we are offering,” said de Vito. Native Italian Chef Samuele Alvisi helms the kitchen as Executive Chef at il Lido, bringing with him more than twelve years of skills and knowledge from various acclaimed restaurants and deluxe hotels across Italy, United Kingdom, Dubai, Beijing and Singapore. “His passion and dedication in preparing Italian food and his strong culinary expertise founded from F&B and hospitality industries will, without a doubt, convey il Lido’s signature style of serving authentic Italian cuisine at its finest,” said de Vito.
Using only the most premium ingredients sourced directly from Italy, il Lido offers an indulgent and irresistible repertoire of fresh homemade pastas, gourmet meat and seafood dishes, and home cured cheeses. Chef Samuele celebrates the heritage of Italian cuisine with a refreshing culinary point of view, serving classic regional specialties such as Breaded Veal Chop with Marinated Tomatoes, Roasted Suckling Pig with Plum Sauce and Red Snapper Fillet with Braised Fennel, Vanilla and ‘Taggiasche’ Olives. Homemade pastas at il Lido are freshly made daily. One can savour the delicate textures of the pastas complemented by gourmet delicacies with dishes like Pappardelle with Goose Liver, Duck Confit and Truffle Sauce, Capellini with Sea Urchin and Buffalo Milk Ricotta Cheese.
|An extensive walk-in wine cellar is also available at il Lido. The 300-strong labels wine list features the best in Old World and New World wines, with a strong emphasis on Old World classics like Italy’s Barolo, Brunello and Amarone, and France’s Bordeaux and Burgundy.
Close to 270 guests can be accommodated at the restaurant and bar located within the bustling district of Kuala Lumpur.
The design and concept of the space is the brainchild of de Vito, who envisioned an ultra-luxe and modern Italian space. The restaurant and bar, in a luxurious colour palette of chrome, gold, black and grey, features only the very best interior and product designers from Europe while all the sittings and lightings are imported straight from Italy.
The indoor dining area, sitting 50 in the main room and 20 in the two dining private rooms, has been specifically layout to keep tables of two to four along the room’s perimeters to allow guests to enjoy their meals without unnecessary interruptions.
For those looking to relax and unwind will find their perfect spot at il Lido’s alfresco bar. Gourmet bar snacks from pizzas to skewers, as well as a variety of world-class wines and spirits, are sure to satisfy. Boasting a peerless view of Kuala Lumpur’s cityscape, the bar is tastefully landscaped – from the minimal use of lights and greenery, and spacious plush sitting corners (tucked to the sides for added privacy) – to provide an intimate, undisturbed and lush setting for urban dwellers.
Following a similar sense of style from Singapore’s il Lido and FORLINO, some signature design pieces at il Lido include the famed designer Philippe Starck’s whimsical range of chairs, bag stools and vases and Marcel Wanders’ glamorous and regal chandeliers.
